1. Who We Are
PipePrep AI is an exam-prep app for people applying to union pipe-trades apprenticeships — plumbers, pipefitters/steamfitters, sprinkler fitters, and HVAC technicians. The app is operated by Michael Briglio / Imperium Power Systems.
PipePrep AI is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the United Association (UA), GAN Human Resources, or any union, training committee, or testing organization.

2. What We Collect
Information you provide
- Questions and messages you send to the AI tutor and mock-interview features
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous usage analytics — which features and practice modes are used, identified by a random per-install ID (not your name or email)
- Subscription status and transaction data (managed by Apple/Google and RevenueCat)
- Device type, OS version, and app version for crash reporting
What we do NOT collect
- Accounts — PipePrep AI does not require an account, login, or email address
- Location data — we do not request or store your location
- Contacts — we do not access your contact list
- Camera or microphone content — nothing is recorded or uploaded by us
- Financial data — payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google
3. How We Use Your Data
- To generate AI tutor responses and mock-interview feedback to your questions
- To manage your subscription status
- To understand which features are used so we can improve the app
- To detect and fix bugs and crashes
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4.
4. Third-Party Services
Powers the AI tutor and mock-interview scoring. Your chat messages and interview answers are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed by their models.
Manages subscription state across iOS and Android. Receives subscription event data from Apple and Google. RevenueCat does not receive your AI questions or practice history.
Hosts the API proxy the app talks to. Server-side request logs are subject to Vercel's data retention policies.
Stores anonymous usage analytics events (feature usage keyed to a random install ID — never your name, email, or chat content).
Manage app distribution and in-app purchases. Purchases are subject to Apple's and Google's privacy policies respectively.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your practice data — test results, drill history, saved progress, and chat history — is stored locally on your device. It never leaves your phone except for the individual chat messages sent to our AI provider for processing.
Server-side, we store only anonymous usage analytics and what is necessary for subscription management. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. We do not operate a database of user accounts — there are no accounts.
6. Data Retention
- On-device data (practice results, chat history) — retained until you delete the app or clear app data
- Subscription data — retained by RevenueCat per their policies
- Anonymous analytics events — retained for up to 24 months
- Server logs — retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of data we hold about you
- Deletion — request deletion of data associated with your device (deleting the app removes all on-device data)
- Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format

8. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. For CCPA requests, contact pipeprepai@gmail.com.
9. Children
PipePrep AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PipePrep AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will notify you via the app.
